Green tea has the ability to inhibit the growth of a bacteria called Streptococcus Mutans. This type of organism thrives on sugar causing a decay in the enamel of your teeth resulting to a what we call dental cavity.

Researchers have determined from their study by growing the bacteria on saliva coated discs that green tea's polyphenol has the ability to prevent bacteria from attaching themselves to teeth.

Green tea has powerful antioxidants but the most powerful of all is the EGCG.

Other than the benefit of green tea to prevent bacteria from adhering bacteria to the teeth, green tea has also the ability to strengthen a tooth's resistance to bacteria.

This is because green tea is a rich source of fluoride, calcium, phosphorus, and organic substances.
